How does a BCBA create a treatment plan?
Our BCBA’s work collaboratively with the family to create a treatment plan. Our clinicians will schedule a diagnostic interview with the family, observe your loved one, and run skill assessments that identify both strengths and skill deficits. Our treatment plans may address skills related to language, social skills, self-help skills, and play skills. In addition, our clinician will complete behavior assessments to identify behaviors that may require an intervention to reduce unwanted behaviors (hitting, screaming, etc.) or increase wanted behaviors (functional communication).
How soon can I begin receiving services?
Once a treatment plan is completed, it is then sent to the insurance company for review and authorization. Once we receive treatment authorization, services will begin!
How often will we see the BCBA?
Most families will see their BCBA weekly. The BCBA will oversee the training and supervision of the Behavior Therapist. In addition, the BCBA provides family coaching. Our BCBA’s work with the family as a complete entity, not just the child.
